Book Review

The Bee-Friendly Garden by Kate Frey and Gretchen LeBuhn

This is such a lovely and informative book! There is information included about numerous bee species, and the plants that will attract them. Bees are such an important part of our ecosystem and they have been struggling in recent years. I love seeing honey bees in my yard but was not sure which plants may help me attract more of them or other beneficial bees. This book is the perfect solution! There are some beautiful color photos included and a lot of great tips for designing your own bee-friendly garden. It is not limited strictly to flowers either (though that is the main focus) but it also includes information on some herbs, fruits and veggies that can help attract bees to your garden. My only complaint is the font is a little small. The pages have wide margins of empty space so a larger font would have absolutely fit the pages. Overall, however, it is a great book and one I would absolutely recommend to every gardener and anyone who is interested in learning about bees,  their importance to our ecosystem, and how to attract them.
